Féu importants treballs en la reconstrucció de l’home prehistòric, partint de restes. Juntament amb M.W.Flack descobrí el nòdul sinoauricular . Publicà, entre d’altres, Human Embryology and Morphology (1902), Concerning Man's Origin (1927) i A New Theory of Human Evolution (1948).
