Es dissolgué oficialment l’any 1980. El 1996, Robert Plant i Jimmy Page tornaren a reunir-se per recuperar el vell repertori de Led Zeppelin. Cal destacar els discs: Led Zeppelin (quatre volums amb el mateix nom apareguts entre el 1968 i el 1971), The Song Remains the Same (1976) i In through the out Door (1979).
