Imità l’estil de N.Poussin i C.Gellé en composicions com Paisatge amb arquitectures (Musée du Louvre). Com a decorador treballà amb E.Le Sueur a l’Hôtel Lambert de París i a les habitacions d’Anna d’Àustria al Louvre, juntament amb el seu fill Pierre-Antoine Patel.
